This is a massive cemetery, easily the largest one we have visited. It took us 18 man hours to survey the entire site.
Almost the entire cemetery was grass covered so it was very strange that this one small corner had been left looking so tatty.

These two graves were close togeter. It is most unusual to find the graves of female members of the armed forces. All the more so after the end of hostilities.
We have never seen a gravestone with inscriptions of this type before.

There was an issue with the inscription on the stone and two numbers had to be squeezed in.
The George Cross (GC) is the highest civil decoration of the United Kingdom. Bennett Southwell was killed carrying out bomb disposal work during the London Blitz.

The siege of Ladysmith took place during the Second Boer War. The lady on the bottom of the stone died at 104.
This female member of the armed forces died in 1940 - this was during the Second World War.
Accidentally killed at an army camp - presumably during military training?

This inscription is a bit of a mystery. The daughter died aged 13 then a few days later the Mother was presumed to have died although her body was not found.

"Affections tribute" doesn't sound quite correct to me.
I think the bottom line of the inscription should read honour rather than honor.
If David was identified as the 10th of 13 children why not do the same for John?
