St Peter's Church at Martley has the oldest complete ring of six bells, cast together, in the whole country, made in 1674 by Richard Keene of Woodstock in Oxfordshire. There are also remains of medieval wall paintings inside the church.
It is most unusual to find an nineteenth century memorial to a man who reached the age of 100.
The memorial mason made a mistake with the word "Economy".
