WX UMA (GJ 412) - Currently in 43rd place

WX UMA is the 43rd closest system to Sol. The twin system consists of a red dwarf of spectral class M1.0 and another with a spectral class of M5.5 and with an estimated mass of only 10% that of the Sun.

Note how much brighter the M5.5 dwarf is in the IR rather than V band - and how much less marked the difference is with the M1.0 companion. This effect is well shown in this 30 second animated exposure of IR and V band images.
