M26 - Open Cluster in Scutum

This image was created by median combining 7 x 30 second images using B, V and R filters taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 15 x 15 arc minutes in size.

The open cluster M26 (NGC 6694) lies at a distance of 5000 light years. It has a diameter of 22 light years and an estimated age of about 90 million years.
