M27 - Planetary nebula in Vulpecula

This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 20 x 20 arc minutes in size.

The Dumbell Nebula or M27 (NGC 6853) is a superb example of a planetary nebula. The central star in M27 is an extremely hot blue subdwarf dwarf at a temperature of about 85000 K.
