M54 - Globular Cluster in Sagittarius

This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a RCOS 10" operating at f/6. The image has been cut down to be 15 x 15 arc minutes in size.

M54 (NGC 6715) is a particularly luminous globular cluster with a diameter of around 300 light years and a distance of 80000 to 90000 light years. This globular cluster is difficult to resolve due to its distance from the observer.
