M59 (NGC 4621) is one of the larger elliptical galaxies in Virgo although it is considerably less luminous and massive than M87. Somewhat flattened, at its assumed distance of 60 million light years, it has a maximum diameter of 90000 light years. M60 (NGC 4649) is also a giant elliptical galaxy. At a distance of some 60 million light years it has a diameter of 120000 light years.
