This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 15 x 15 arc minutes in size.

Messier 64 ( NGC 4826) is best known for the dark structure which is a prominent dust feature obscuring the stars behind. M64 has two systems of stars and gas in its disk that rotate in opposite directions and this is the cause of the vigorous star formation that is taking place.
