M68 - Globular Cluster in Hydra

This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 20 x 20 arc minutes in size.

M68 (NGC 4590) is a globular cluster situated in an unusual place - in the hemisphere opposite the Galactic Centre. It lies at a distance of about 33000 light years and has a diameter of over 100 light years.
