M84 and M86 - Galaxies in Virgo

This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 30 x 30 arc minutes in size.

M84 (NGC 4374) is a giant elliptical galaxy of the Virgo Cluster at a distance of 55 million light years. M86 (NGC 4406) lies at a similar distance.
