This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 15 x 15 arc minutes in size.

Messier 91 (NGC 4548) is the faintest object in Messier's catalog. It is an attractive barred spiral galaxy and a member of the Virgo Cluster. The bar is very conspicuous, lying at position angle of 65 degrees and the galaxy has a recession velocity of only about 400 km/sec - well below the average for the Virgo cluster which is 1100 km/sec.
