M97 - Planetary Nebula in Ursa Major

This image was created by median combining 7 x 90 second unfiltered images taken with a Takahashi Epsilon 250 with SBIG ST-8XE CCD. The image has been cut down to be 15 x 15 arc minutes in size.

The Owl Nebula (M97, NGC 3587) is one of four planetary nebulae in the Messier catalogue. The mass of the nebula is about 0.15 solar masses and the age is about 6,000 years.
